Robotics
• Stair climbing robot: Supervisor Anirudh Shrotriya, I-Systems, Jaipur
Developed Step robot, a small wheeled differential drive robot with features of negotiating
indoor environments inclusive regular sized stairs with only four actuators, drives on even floor
like many other small robots with a differential drive and changing its length with linear guide’s mechanism.

• Prison Break : Supervisor Lokendra Sharma, Singhania University , Jaipur
It has a lifting mechanism using 2 screws and four CD Rom’s working simultaneously to reach a height of 45cms. The machine height was 30 cms including a small car added on the top of the lifting machine. The car was made using foam wood and two 300 rpm motor. The machine was manually controlled by wired remote control and was presented at IIT Mumbai Techfest year 2008
• Line Follower : Supervisor Anirudh Shrotriya, I-Systems, Jaipur
The robot is built with 2051, L293D, and two IR sensors. Simple circuit and platform, quick tracking and easy-understand program using assembly language.
• Block Placer: Solution to the problem statement of NEXUS, IIT Techfest
TIt had a window slider with rolling wheels attached with a hook on a movable two motored chassis. It was supposed to pick the blocks and put at a height of 80 cm.
• Ripples: Problem statement of IIT-Bombay-Feb’07 Techfest
This machine can slide on land as well as fly from a height to drop into water n then swim in water. The propellers used were serving dual purpose of tires on land as well as propellers in water. The communication was wireless using 49 MHz RF modules. The propellers were run by two DC geared motors of 500 rpm
• Afterburns: Problem statement of IIT-Bombay-Feb’07 Techfest
It is a vehicle made of IC engine. It has an IC engine 3.2cc methanol 0.96 BHP, fuel tank, muffler a gear box to control the acceleration, built on an aluminum sheet having steering mechanism utilizing 2 motors and spring pulley arrangements.
• Pick and Place crane: Supervisor Anirudh Shrotriya, I-Systems, Jaipur
It is a wired prototype for a crane and has two 150 rpm motor for wheels and one 150 rpm motor for the hand. A rope is tied to the hand and attached to the hand through a hole. The remote is fixed on the battery itself which is in hand of the operator.
• Unmanned Air Vehicle : Remote controlled airplane flight testing visit
It is a robotic flying machine, consisting of a model aircraft, GPS based guidance and navigation system. It has a two way data link with a ground station which is essentially a computer, linked to the aircraft and it is displayed on the ground station monitors to the external pilot, who has the option to make suitable amendments to any or all pre programmed flight parameters with a video camera, which can either bring back to recorded video of ground stations and transit them live to the ground.
